Parents/carers are able to apply for student enrolment at Middle Ridge State School at any time throughout the year. Acceptance of enrolment applications will be subject to eligibility.
Catchment area
Only students who reside within the catchment area are automatically eligible for enrolment. Parents of students residing outside the catchment are invited to contact us to determine the availability of places or eligibility for enrolment.
The Queensland Government’s School Catchment maps page will allow you to see whether or not you live in the Middle Ridge State School catchment area.
Documentation Required for Enrolment
The following documentation is required at the time of making an enrolment application. To establish residency, you will require one of the following Primary sources of evidence:
(a) A full TRC Rates Notice showing that you are the owner of the home; OR
(b) A current lease agreement (managed by an agent) in your name; OR
(c) An unconditional contract of sale & settlement letter establishing that you are purchasing the home, in your name.
You will also require a Secondary source of evidence showing the same residential address in your name.
This may be either:
(a) A gas bill; OR
(b) An electricity bill; OR
(c) A telephone bill.
To be considered for enrolment, the residential address being offered must be the principal place of residence.
Please note: In the event you live within the catchment area and the living arrangement is with family/friends/ some form of private agreement, more documentation may be requested by the Principal at any point during the initial stages.
Prep enrolments
Prep year students may be enrolled in a similar manner and on the same basis as students in all other year levels. Age eligibility requirements apply however. To be eligible to enrol in the 'Prep Year' program, a child must have turned 5 years of age by 30 June in the year in which the child is to commence in the prep year. View the Department's online calculator to determine when your child can commence their preparatory year. This requirement may be relaxed for students enrolling from interstate where it can be demonstrated that a child is/has been enrolled in a state authorised formal education program.
Enrolment of children of Defence Force families
Children of serving Defence Force personnel are eligible for enrolment at Middle Ridge State School if they reside either within or outside the geographic/enrolment catchment area.
